David Mayfield

http://davidmayfieldparade.net/

If you’ve seen David Mayfield perform with The Avett Brothers, Mumford & Sons, Jessica Lea Mayfield, or at Bonnaroo, you’ve caught the charisma, the heart, and the comedy, and it’s likely you’ll come back for more.

David grew up playing bass and touring with his family’s bluegrass band. As a teenager he established himself as a hot picker collecting national awards for his dexterity on guitar and mandolin. His knack for colorful performances was evident as a backing player in his sister Jessica Lea Mayfield’s band including their appearance on “The Late Show with David Letterman. He followed that with a stint in the successful Bluegrass outfit Cadillac Sky.

This singer-songwriter, band leader, and Grammy nominated producer stepped out of the sideman shadows with his 2011 album "The David Mayfield Parade",  His follow-up "Good Man Down" was self released and funded with a Kickstarter campaign that more than doubled its initial goal of $18,000. On the heels of that success, Mayfield partnered with Compass Records to release

"Strangers" in 2014.  The record has been called a tour de force, stretching from the avant-garde to Mayfield’s bluegrass roots.  Mayfield is truly a wordsmith, forging the mundane into the evocative in each track.   Conscious of not just being a musician, but an entertainer - something his father instilled in him in the family band - he makes a commanding impression live. But it’s the strength of his songwriting and musicianship, combined with that charm and personality that keep audiences consistently lining up to join the parade.

“…his songs are sturdy enough to work in any format, because his tunes are that lovely and his words that understated.”  - Washington Post

“…a dynamic combination of music and comedy worthy of a traveling vaudeville act” - The Boston Globe

“Anyone with a craving for rustic Americana—frayed edges and all—will find Mayfield and company effective practitioners.” —Blurt

"A massively skilled picker and singer with a knack for stagecraft.” —Nashville Scene

The Railsplitters

http://www.therailsplitters.com/

In 2013, only days after their debut CD release, backed by an impressive $10,000+ Kickstarter campaign, The Railsplitters performed at Rockygrass and earned the title of "Best New Band."  They would soon become a tried-and-true staple of the Colorado music scene.

Having went on their first national tour in 2014, The Railsplitters have since built up quite the entertainment resume, including touring the UK and Europe twice, earning a spot on Spotify’s official Indie Bluegrass playlist totally organically and playing many major bluegrass festivals including Rockygrass (multiple times,) Delfest, Grey Fox, Green River Festival, Salmon Jam and more.  The band has also opened for Steeldrivers, Trout Steak Revival, Noam Pikelny of Punch Brothers, Aoife O’Donovan, Milkdrive, Dustbowl Revival, Front Country and more.  This is due in no small part to their 2015 album "The Faster It Goes," which was championed by No Depression, Pop Matters and Andy Hall of the Infamous Stringdusters.  The album showcases lead singer’s Lauren Stovall’s songbirg-like vocal, which leaps from note to note with a ton of emotional conviction and the band’s own melodic songwriting that features compositions from all 5 of The Railsplitters.

"The Railsplitters embody two of my favorite musical elements: high quality musicianship and great original songs. They use both to make them, without a doubt, one of the best bluegrass bands to emerge in the last few years." -Andy Hall, The Infamous Stringdusters

"That high, lonesome sound has rarely sounded better." - Jeff Burger, No Depression
