Zach Deputy 

In making his fourth album Wash It in the Water, Zach Deputy dreamed up a sunny and soulful new sound that fuses hip-hop, funk, and folky pop with the spirited rhythms of soca and calypso. With that sound embodied by the album’s brightly melodic and richly textured title track, Wash It in the Water finds the Georgia-based singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist mining his Puerto Rican and Cruzan heritage for inspiration.

“Because of the music I was raised on, I’ve always heard rhythm in a very tropical, Latin-esque way—it’s something that resonates in the deepest parts of me,” says Deputy, who grew up in South Carolina. “When I was a kid my grandma would play a lot of salsa and soca and make me get up and dance to it, so in a way this is me putting my own spin on all that and bringing those sounds into a whole new era.”

With Deputy playing every instrument on the album, Wash It in the Water was self-produced in spontaneous sessions that took place in studios and homes and sometimes in Deputy’s garage. “Each time I recorded it was mostly just for fun,” he says. “I wasn’t trying to make anything happen, I was just going with what felt good.” As a result, Wash It in the Water bears a warm, natural feel that permeates everything from the intricate guitar work and tender vocals of “Jump in the Water” (a serenade to Deputy’s seven-year-old daughter) to the groove-heavy funk of “Put It in the Boogie” (a celebration of the joyfully chaotic life of a musician) to the piano-driven balladry of “Loving You” (a powerful meditation on unconditional love).

Despite the spur-of-the-moment approach, Wash It in the Water emerges as a gracefully arranged effort that owes much to the musicianship and songcraft Deputy’s honed since getting his first guitar at age 13. By his mid-teens he’d started up a series of garage bands, balancing his own projects with playing in local big bands and soul groups. “I was this 16-year-old white kid crushing it in a Motown band, and because of that I got to learn a lot about respecting the composition,” Deputy recalls. “To me music is a bunch of small pieces fitting together to form this beautiful castle.”

Come Back Alice 

Come Back Alice is a genre defying high-energy Rock N Roll band from St. Petersburg, FL. "Formed in 2012, Come Back Alice has a patently-unique sound that they've dubbed Southern Gypsy Funk, a blend of rock, soul, gypsy jazz and funk music, the flavors of which compliment each other like ingredients in a fine New Orleans gumbo. With improvisational influences and a love of bands known for killer live performances—including The Band, Dave Matthews, Tom Petty, and The Allman Brothers Band—even the biggest Come Back Alice fans don't know what to expect from show to show from a band that has never repeated a set list.” - Dennis Maley, The Bradenton Times Fronted by multi-instrumentalist (and newly-weds) Tony Tyler and Dani Jaye, the connection witnessed onstage is impalpable. Switching between slide guitar, B3 organ, Violin, and keys, these two have a knack for captivating audiences with an electric stage presence one would come to expect from a truly organic Rock N Roll show. A Georgia native, Tyler met Jaye shortly after moving to Florida to play with the late Dan Toler (Allman Brothers Band). The two stayed local for a short time, writing music and looking for players with dreams as big as their own. After meeting drummer Yral Morris in Sarasota, FL, they knew they had found the rhythmic core needed to take the sound to the next level. Morris, a Miami bred groove machine, honed his chops in the gospel churches of south Florida. With a style all his own, his dynamically powerful approach on drumming makes him a perfect fit to an entirely unique band. Within the last year, the band has added Percussionist Jimmy Rector. Prior to moving to Florida and meeting Tony and Dani while jamming around a campfire, Rector resided in rural Missouri and worked as a studio drummer that was known for pushing the bar with a wide array of musical projects of all different genres. The band released their self-titled debut album in 2015, which recorded at award-winning Tree sound Studios in Atlanta, GA. The album was accompanied by a critically acclaimed music video for their single ‘Coraline.” The music video took home the gold by winning Music Video of the Year at the Los Angeles Gorilla Film Festival, “Coraline” was also nominated for an award at several other film festivals. Having already performed in more than 10 states at some of the nations largest festivals and venues, Come Back Alice is taking the nation by storm. The band is currently in the process of producing a new studio album, set to be released in Summer 2017, alongside a career defying year of genre defying highenergy Rock N Roll performances. #cbaiscoming
